What does Third Sector Dumfries and Galloway need from you? The role seeks an experienced, compassionate and enabling leader to join the team as embarking on the delivery of a new Prospectus to 2027. The successful person is likely to bring strong understanding of the third sector, along with excellent strategic planning, performance and relationship building skills across internal and external stakeholders. As well as leading the largest range of portfolios with skilled and experienced colleagues, this role also deputises for their Chief Executive and holds several specific representative roles in that capacity, so experience of contributing to strategic decision making, applying knowledge of wider contexts and collaborative working will all be of benefit to the successful post holder. What You'll Do Develop the organisations capacity building role for the sector across Dumfries and Galloway and further develop their model of sector collaboration. Provide strategic leadership across a range of portfolios, supporting and enabling their Lead Officers to design, develop and deliver on their ambitions. Enable the development of the organisation’s community involvement, volunteering and local partnership activity and be an advocate for community-led design and investment. Represent TSDG and the sector on leadership groups across community planning and regional priorities, including Chairing some relevant groups. Build effective partnership and co-working relationships within a range of local, regional partnerships, including NHSDG, Dumfries and Galloway Council, South of Scotland Enterprise, the Third Sector Interface Network and Scottish Government. Be accountable, transparent, inclusive and fair to play your part in leading the organisation. As a member of the Senior Leadership Group, contribute to the further development and delivery of our Prospectus and help build confidence in the organisation and sector to lead. More about you You will be able to demonstrate experience of leading strategic organisational development across multiple priorities, ideally in the third sector. You will be able to demonstrate your application of supportive, enabling and compassionate leadership of people. You will be able to show examples of building effective external partnerships and relationships and/or building models of effective collaboration. You will be able to show examples of effective application of key core skills for the role, including strategic and/or business planning, problem solving and effective communications. You will be able to show ability for topic or thematic research, and effective and confident presentation skills. You may bring experience and/or understanding of community engagement and community planning policy or practice.
