Job overview

Deputy Service Lead. In this role, you will be leading alongside the Head of Service in the strategic development and implementation of Lambeth NHS Talking Therapies. You will jointly lead, manage and plan the delivery of the Lambeth NHS Talking Therapies (IAPT) service. This role is ideal for a person who has a proven track record in leadership and is committed to delivering high quality services and improving patient outcomes. You will be working with a dynamic and senior team that values innovation and creative thinking and works together to achieve excellent results. You will have a key role in performance management.

Main duties of the job

To lead the delivery of the Lambeth NHS Talking Therapies service, working with the Head of Service to set the direction and key targets, and coordinating the contribution of the management team in planning and delivering the service. To work with stakeholders including GPs, clients, commissioners and staff to develop the service to better meet the needs of the ethnically and culturally diverse population of Lambeth. To direct the performance management system for the service and coordinate internal and external performance reporting. Support the Head of Service to set and manage the operating budget for Lambeth NHS Talking Therapies. To ensure that the development, delivery and evaluation of the service is driven by the use of evidence and data through monitoring, audit, training and research. Qualifications

Essential criteria BABCP Accredited Passed High Intensity IAPT diploma on IAPT training course. Additional training beyond entry-level qualification in the specialised area of EMDR Evidence of continuing professional development as required by the BABCP Desirable criteria Management training course Experience

Essential criteria Experience of undertaking leadership roles including leading a large team Experience of proposing and implementing service development projects that impact beyond own service area. Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients with a range of psychological needs of a complex nature in CBT for IAPT Experience of supervising assistant and trainee and qualified step 2 and step 3 staff, having completed the relevant training. Desirable criteria Record of publications in either peer reviewed, academic or professional journals/books Experience of tendering procedures Knowledge

Essential criteria Knowledge of the theory and practice of management and leadership Advanced knowledge of the theory and practice of the specialised psychological therapy of CBT. Advanced theoretical knowledge of psychopathology and the evidence base for the relevant treatment for IAPT Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health issues, child and adult protection, and equalities. Desirable criteria Knowledge of psychological research methodology Knowledge of factors affecting acceptability and accessibility of mental health care Skills

Essential criteria To communicate skilfully and sensitively complex and sensitive information with clients, carers and colleagues To plan delivery of psychology and psychotherapy services to the client group and carers, involving partner agencies. To select and administer specialist psychological assessments, interpreting and integrating complex data that require analysis, interpretation and comparison, drawn from several sources, on which expert opinion may differ To deliver psychological therapy across cultural and other differences Well-developed IT skills including excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint and analysis of audit or research data and for teaching purposes.
