Job Description We are seeking a Deputy Director of Analysis and Evidence to be a key figure in UKRI's strategic leadership. In this role, you will have a central role in ensuring that all decisions are grounded in robust evidence and analysis. Working closely with our collaborative colleagues from UKRI's nine councils and teams, you will lead a high-performing analytical profession to craft our strategy and effectively communicate our impact to government, customers, partners, and the public. Key Responsibilities Lead and encourage a team of analysts and head the analysis profession, promoting a culture of excellence, innovation, and flexibility. Build and manage a comprehensive evidence base to support UKRI’s strategy, funding, and policy decisions. Collaborate with the CEO, CFO, CIO, and Executive Chairs to drive UKRI’s vision and ensure decisions are informed by high-quality data and analysis. Provide compelling evidence to support UKRI’s Spending Review bids, fiscal events, and planning investment for optimal impact. Engage closely with government departments, building strong connections and delivering in-depth analysis to senior decision-makers. Person Specification Proven leadership in analytical roles, with the ability to drive high-impact analysis in complex organisational environments. Experience influencing strategy through evidence-based decision-making in policy-relevant contexts. Strong ability to develop relationships with partners, shape UKRI’s strategy for analysis and evidence, and effectively lead teams to success. Strong understanding of the research and innovation sector and experience working within central government.
