The Deputy Directorate Accountant will work as part of the Financial Management team to ensure the accurate and timely provision of financial information, support and guidance to the Trust's Clinical Boards. The Financial Management team are responsible for the monthly closedown, variance analysis, reporting and forecasting, as well as providing business support to managers, including high quality financial information and analysis to meet their financial objectives throughout the year. The role is based at Regent Point in Gosforth, with parking available or easy access to the Regent Centre metro and bus interchange. This is a key role with responsibility for providing financial support, advice, and guidance to one of the Trust's 8 Clinical Boards with total budgets in excess of £100m, ensuring that financial controls are maintained within Corporate Governance guidelines. The team produce monthly management accounts to enable accurate monitoring and forecasting of the Trust's financial position, enabling Clinical Boards and the Trust to make well informed financial decisions. To play an advanced role in assisting the Directorate Accountant in the provision of a high quality financial management service and deputising when necessary. To work closely with the Directorate Management Team, providing timely and accurate financial and supporting information and advice to facilitate the effective monitoring of specific Directorate and Departments specific financial position. To play an integral role in the formulation of the Trusts budget. To ensure that financial controls are maintained within Corporate Governance guidelines. Person Specification
