Job Description: This position is working within our Accounts department, reporting to the Finance Director and the Financial Controller with some reporting to the Chief Executive. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day transactional accounting and budgeting, and management of the accounts department working under the Financial Controller. When the Financial Controller is absent, you will deputise for them in all aspects of the accounting function with the help of other members of the Accounts team. The Candidate: You will be a bright, sharp, self-motivated, dedicated, and hardworking individual who is fully/partly qualified ACCA, ACA, CIMA (or equivalent) or who is similarly qualified by experience. You will be responsible for: Nominal, Purchase and Sales Ledgers. Payroll preparation and RTI compliance. VAT Control Account and Submissions. Preparation and verification of accounts including weekly/monthly P&L & B/S. Cash flow management and reporting. Weekly and monthly reporting to tight deadlines. Preparation of annual budgets and monitoring for Business Units. Preparation of Annual Statutory Accounts and supporting Audit Schedules and submission to Companies House and HMRC. Management of company pension auto-enrolment scheme. Management of company assets including our car fleet. Other general management and financial and administration duties. An advantage would be: Commercial business management experience. Commercial negotiating and management ability. Commercial contract experience. Your previous experience should include: Five years either with a practice audit background and now looking to move into the commercial sector within a medium-sized company. A Finance Manager/Controller within an SME ideally within a group structure. Accounts department management skills. Ability to communicate at all levels within an organization. Knowledge of SAGE for payroll would be advantageous. Preference will be given to people local to St Neots. The Salary: Between £40,000 and £45,000 depending upon ability and experience, plus a car.
