An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Head Nurse to join a well-established, thriving veterinary group in the picturesque seaside and port town of Hartlepool, County Durham. With a history dating back to 1950, this dynamic group has grown to include four successful small animal practices, renowned for their commitment to exceptional care and building strong, lasting relationships with clients.

This newly created position is designed to support the current Head Nurse, who has been with the practice for nearly 30 years. The role offers an opportunity to provide guidance and support to the senior nursing team while fostering the growth and development of the expanding nursing team.

A conscientious and motivated individual, you will strive for best practices, build positive rapport with the team and clients, and bring passion and excellence to your work. Strong communication skills are essential to thrive in this role.

You will join a dedicated team comprising 11 skilled vets with certificates in Surgery, Dentistry, Cardiology, and Imaging. They are supported by a large administration team, three Senior RVNs, eight RVNs, four student nurses, one Senior ANA, and six ANAs. The practice is well-equipped with cutting-edge technology, including advanced blood machines, ultrasound, and digital x-rays (including dental x-rays). In addition to routine procedures, the team regularly undertakes advanced surgeries, including orthopaedics. Plans are underway for a potential move to a new site later this year, complete with a CT machine. The group is also progressing toward cat-friendly accreditation and expanding its exotics services.

This full-time role involves working 40 hours per week across the group's three main sites in County Durham.
