Thomas Telford Primary Free School (Opening September 2025) Deputy Headteacher Permanent Salary: L11-L15 Days/Hours of work: Full time Required from September 2025 (Potential April 2025 start date, to be discussed at interview.) Thomas Telford Primary Free School is a new build primary school joining the Thomas Telford Multi Academy Trust. Through the replication of the adapted ‘Thomas Telford template’ for primary school use, the aim of the new primary free school will be to provide an educational experience of outstanding quality to ensure that the life chances for success for all pupils who attend the school are significantly improved. We strive to create a nurturing and forward-thinking educational environment where children thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, and where staff are empowered to grow as professionals through collaborative coaching. The successful candidate will be a passionate, committed professional, who has had consistently successful classroom and curricular/team leadership experience and will be a highly effective and an inspirational senior leader. Please note this is likely to be a non-teaching Deputy role. We are looking for a Deputy who is: An excellent primary practitioner with high expectations. Successful in using strategies to raise standards. Inspirational and creative. Committed to continuous school improvement. Have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills and have the ability to build teams in school and with external parties. Be responsible for the leadership of Teaching and Learning across the school. Be able to analyse and interpret data in order to set targets and establish intervention groups which will impact on pupil progress and attainment. Has a good sense of humour. A strategic thinker.
