If so, we have an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Information Security Officer to join the Compliance Team within Information Management. As Deputy Information Security Officer, you will work closely in collaboration with the Information Security Officer and wider compliance team to keep our assets, data and information safe. You will assist in monitoring and responding to information security incidents involving a wide variety of physical and digital security matters, and implement, enforce and adapt policies and procedures to keep up to date with the latest information security trends. You will collaborate with other teams across the organisation to recommend and implement security strategies for information assets and conduct regular security audits and risk assessments. You will assist in providing assurance activities and delivery of advice in line with national requirements set by the Home Office and national and local procedures and guidance. Key responsibilities: Provide a high quality, credible and timely assurance, and advisory support services. Deliver service in accordance with agreed standards and SLAs as well as identifying and developing ongoing process and service improvements. Monitor and maintain the security incident log, ensuring mitigating actions and activities are undertaken to reduce any risk. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation. Support the completion of customised reports or briefings on information security matters. Undertake research or project work on key issues or specific initiatives. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and impending national changes, adapting policies and procedures as required. Provide expert advice to Information Asset Owners and key stakeholders, on best practice on the secure management of information. Undertake information security assurance activities, negotiating with and influencing key stakeholders to agree remedial action required to maintain the security and accessibility of records in line with statutory, legal, and local procedural requirements. Ensure the appropriate development and implementation of key tools and learning, such as e-learning or quick reference guides, to improve processes and the service user experience. Deputise for the Information Security Officer, when appropriate, and represent the Compliance Team at relevant meetings. Requirements: Attention to detail:

you will have the ability to notice inconsistencies and issues, and make risk based decisions to ensure information is best protected. Communication skills:

you will have effective negotiating and influencing skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with a broad range of diverse and demanding customers. Report writing:

you will be able to produce and present accurate data and information in audit reports and risk assessments. ICT Skills:

you will be proficient in using various IT systems including Microsoft Office and SharePoint. Experience:

you will have experience in an information security environment, and of providing advice to various levels of colleagues across an organisation. Desirable:

you will have a good understanding of the Data Protection Act (2018) and wider information security standards. You may also have knowledge of advancing technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence and machine learning.
