Category C men's prison , located in the village of Stradishall in Suffolk, England. Highpoint Prison offers free parking and free use of an on-site large gym. We can offer nurse prescribing for career development. This is a unique setting, working alongside the prison with good working relationships, and undergoing the development of a new site to expand capacity, making it an exciting time to join. Hours

37.5 hours a week, mainly working Monday to Friday 8-4 or 8.30-4.30pm, with some weekend cover when required. Salary

What you'll be doing

As a Deputy Mental Health Lead (Senior Nurse), your responsibilities will vary. You will: Work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options. Manage a team of around 5 or 6 Mental Health Nurses, LD Nurse, and a TNA. Undertake medication rounds and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed. Assess patients' health needs using an evidence-based framework and conduct risk assessments using sound clinical knowledge. Ensure that you assess the physical and mental health of prisoners on admission to the prison and throughout their period of custody to make appropriate referrals. Be responsible for making clinical judgments regarding any immediate needs and long-term treatment. Qualifications required

You will be a qualified Registered Nurse (Mental Health) with a passion for developing your clinical skills in an ever-changing environment. Must have strong leadership experience and team management skills. Current professional qualification (NMC) and evidence of Continued Professional Development. Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working. A non-judgmental and compassionate approach.
