Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management: Support the Nursery Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery. Lead by example, inspiring staff to deliver high-quality care and education. Take responsibility for the nursery in the Manager’s absence.

Childcare and Education: Ensure the highest standards of safety, security, and well-being for all children. Develop and implement engaging learning opportunities that meet the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Monitor and evaluate children’s progress, providing support and guidance to staff.

Team Development: Supervise, mentor, and support staff members to achieve their potential. Assist in the recruitment, training, and performance management of nursery staff. Promote a positive and collaborative work environment.

Parent and Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong, positive relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their child’s progress. Handle any queries or concerns with professionalism and care.

Compliance and Administration: Ensure the nursery meets all regulatory and legislative requirements, including Ofsted standards. Maintain accurate records, including staff schedules, children’s attendance, and development plans. Assist in budget management and resource planning.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Level 3 (or higher) qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a childcare setting, with leadership responsibilities. Comprehensive understanding of the EYFS framework and Ofsted requirements. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.
