An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and passionate individual to join the Medicine Care group.

If you have a background of respiratory/acute care, can care for acutely ill patients and have excellent leadership skills, this could be the post for you.

The successful applicant should have excellent communication skills and be able to work within the Multidisciplinary team, to deliver a high standard of patient centred care.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant would be expected to manage a team of staff members, deal with complaints at ward level and participate in clinical audits.

You will be fully supported whilst learning the skills required to become a confident Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse. You would also be expected to be the nurse in charge in the absence of the Ward Manager and lead the team.

Being a role model is a fundamental aspect of this role and you will be expected to have excellent clinical and communication skills.

Registered Nurse (Level 1) Recognised teaching/assessing qualification

Desirable

Leadership and management qualification Quality and improvement qualification

Experience

Essential

At least 2 years at Band 5 or equivalent Clinical audit and standard setting Working with a wide range of professionals

Desirable

6 months working in clinical area endocrinology and general medicine environment.

Training

Essential

Evidence of continued professional development and implementation in clinical practice within the last 12 months

Desirable

Understanding of training needs in relation to post
