At York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, patient care is at the centre of all that we do. An exciting opportunity has arisen within Older Peoples services at York Hospital. We are looking to recruit an experienced nurse into the Band 6 Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse role on Ward 28. The successful candidate will have at least 18 months post registration experience in an acute environment. This ward has 30 beds and provides quality holistic care for older adults and covers a range of various medical conditions incorporating the care of patients with dementia, Parkinson's and those on the palliative care pathway. Main Duties of the Job

We are looking for someone who is capable of lateral thinking and will work in an innovative manner with the resources available. The post will support the Band 7 to lead and to further enhance the team of senior nurses, focusing on patient experience, patient safety and providing assurance that standards are met for every patient, every time. The candidate must be ready for a new challenge, have sound clinical knowledge and skills, and be ready to take on the leadership role. Qualifications

Registered Nurse (Level 1) Recognised teaching and assessing qualification Degree Experience

At least 18 months at Band 5 or equivalent Clinical audit and standard setting Training

Evidence of continued professional development and implementation in clinical practice within the last 12 months Skills

Ability to communicate effectively with a multi-disciplinary team Disclosure and Barring Service Check
