The Jenny Lind Children’s Hospital at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is nestled on the outskirts of the vibrant city of Norwich. We are excited to share that we have full time and part time opportunities for Band 6 deputy team leaders within our Theatre team. We are a brand new stand alone Paediatric Theatre Complex, comprising of 2 elective theatres and a 6 bay PACU (Post anaesthetic care unit) area. Main duties of the job

The post-holder is responsible for supporting the Clinical Leader and a small, cohesive multi-disciplinary team. Provide positive and caring leadership while being a strong role model, and demonstrating the Trust’s PRIDE values at all times. Manage the efficient utilisation of operating theatre lists, minimising delays and preventing on the day cancellations. Have an in depth knowledge of the surgical pathway and design processes around the unique needs of the child and young person. Assist with the recruitment and retention of staff. Support with Staff Health and Well Being, Sickness management, under the guidance of the Clinical leader. Assist with staff development of all grades including Band 4’s. Involvement with all relevant National and Local Audits, with a responsibility to encourage compliance and commitment. Person specification

Qualifications

Registered Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner on the appropriate part of the NMC/ Health Care Professions Council register. To have completed the mentorship preparation programme or equivalent. Have or be working towards a health related degree. Experience

Knowledge of current developments in clinical specialty. Experience of managing and leading a clinical area. Skills

Able to work effectively under pressure in an unpredictable and demanding environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Effective role model, demonstrating NNUH’s PRIDE values.
