This is an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Ward Manager to join the team on this busy 27 bedded Trauma and Orthopaedics ward. We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated and enthusiastic person to join our Multi-disciplinary team, providing high-quality nursing care within this busy ward. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, team working skills, and a dedication to improving the patient experience. You will need to demonstrate continuing professional development and a strong commitment to developing others while working closely within a Multidisciplinary team. Applicants must be able to evidence experience of working as a Band 5 or previous experience as a Band 6 within Trauma and Orthopaedics. Main duties of the job

You will support the ward manager to lead, provide, and supervise a very high standard of compassionate care to our patients. You will support the safety and quality agenda of patient care and staff management, ensuring that the values and objectives of the Trust are met while improving patient outcomes. You will support the journey of the patient from admission to discharge, identify risk, and formulate actions to reduce this risk, ensuring effective patient throughput. You will display excellent leadership and effective communication skills, demonstrating a proactive, collaborative, and innovative approach to the clinical environment and a passion for excellence in patient care. Qualifications

Registered Nurse, current NMC registration Teaching and assessing qualification or equivalent Experience

Evidence of management experience Evidence of change management Application of evidence-based practice Evidence of developing high standards of patient care Lead role in education of staff and patients Knowledge

Application of current nursing issues and healthcare governance Skills

Ability to work in changing environments Basic IT skills, including e-mail and word processing Other
