The Somerset Dermatology Service is offering a fixed term/secondment opportunity for a Band 3 Healthcare Assistants/Support Worker for our expanding dermatology service at Musgrove Park Hospital and Intermediate Care. You will be based on the West side of the County and must be willing to travel to our sites across the community. You will provide effective, clinical support to the Dermatology team and support the systems for a multi-disciplinary approach to patient-centred care delivery. Main duties of the job
Experience of working in a care setting would be advantageous but all necessary skills training, professional updates and mandatory training as appropriate to the post will be provided. Qualifications
A Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) Level 3. This could be a Vocational NVQ, BTEC or equivalent international qualification in healthcare or able to demonstrate the equivalent level of experience. Knowledge of Dermatology or willingness to learn. Experience
Previous recent experience of working within an acute/community setting. Phlebotomy (Adults). Experience of recording Observations. Experience of taking and monitoring blood glucose levels. Additional Criteria
Understands the need for strict confidentiality. Teaching/supervising others. Able to work under instruction and under own initiative within the boundaries of the role and as part of a team. Able to work under pressure. Understands limitations of the role and need to refer to others. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
