White Label Recruitment is proud to partner with a leading engineering company in the Oil & Gas and Renewable Energy sectors, based in Lancaster. With numerous new contracts secured and more in the pipeline, the company is seeking a Design Engineer to strengthen its engineering team and drive the department forward.

About the Role As a Design Engineer, you will take a leading role in both the development of concept and existing products. You will act as a Product Champion, working closely with sales, project management, and customers. This role will require a combination of design activities, hands-on problem-solving, and innovation in a busy, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead product development and champion product improvements. Support sales and project teams with design-related activities. Utilise Autodesk tools for design, modelling, and drafting (Inventor, AutoCAD). Perform finite element analysis (FEA) using advanced simulation tools (Orcaflex, ANSYS). Create detailed engineering and assembly drawings for manufacturing and testing. Develop test procedures, reports, and manuals to ensure quality and compliance. Collaborate with customers and suppliers, representing the company at meetings and trade shows. Investigate and integrate new technologies to advance product capabilities. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards throughout the design process.

Skills and Experience Required

Minimum HND in Mechanical Engineering. Extensive experience (5+ years) in design engineering, ideally within heavy engineering sectors. Proficiency in Mathcad and Autodesk software (Inventor, AutoCAD). Strong structural hand calculation skills. Experience with finite element analysis tools such as Orcaflex and ANSYS. Solid understanding of metals, alloys, and phosphorous. Oil & Gas or Renewable Energy sector experience is advantageous.
