Our client is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Design and Estimating Engineer to join their well-established team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, estimating and specification of fire alarm systems using company tools and operating protocols. This is a home-based role with a requirement to attend the office one day per week so candidates will need to be based within a sensible commute of north Leicestershire. There is a requirement to travel for site surveys and customer visits (circa 2 or 3 per month). A car will be provided and all expenses will be reimbursed. The Benefits:

Design responsibility and the production of fire alarm design proposals. Managing a number of designs/proposals at any one time and prioritizing according to project needs. Customer-facing with the sales team where required to deliver proposals. Liaising with Project Managers and installation teams to negotiate installation costs on supply, install & commission projects. Ensuring that all designs & proposals produced are accurately costed and priced to achieve the agreed company margins and any necessary management approvals & sign-offs are obtained prior to issue. Ensuring all quotations are compliant with the relevant standards & regulations currently in force at the time, CDM, fire alarm British standards, etc. Provide exceptional customer service, managing and maintaining design enquiries, including obtaining and evaluating relevant information, and responding promptly to customer inquiries and concerns. Provide technical assistance, support, and guidance to department team members and communicate and coordinate with internal personnel. Administration of all current inquiries, including job won handover files and parts SRM system updating. Our Ideal Candidate:

Experienced fire design engineer (FIA design qualification or similar) Technical knowledge of different manufacturer’s fire systems (i.e. Hochiki, Gent, Advanced, Ziton) Previous experience in similar role liaising with end user and contractors AutoCAD Trained Excellent communication and customer service skills Hold a clean driving licence Ability to create and build strong relationships, with a professional approach
