Description: My client is looking for a Control System Engineer experienced in Allen Bradley PLC programming and coding, with proven knowledge of AutoCAD for mechanical and electrical designs. The successful candidate will be responsible for control systems design, electrical engineering, systems engineering, PLC programming, testing, and on-site testing & commissioning of industrial automation control & safety systems. Skills: Proven knowledge and experience with AutoCAD. Experienced in PLC programming – Allen Bradley. Systems, software & hardware development experience. PLC / SCADA system design & development, including safety. Industrial communications experience – ProfiBus, Ethernet, DeviceNet. Experience with emulation & simulation software is an advantage. Strong & effective communicator. Willing to travel throughout the UK & overseas if needed. Rail industry knowledge would be advantageous. Degree in Control, Automation, or Electrical Engineering is preferred. Responsibilities: Developing complex designs, detailed layouts, mechanical designs, and wiring schematics for safety/control systems using AutoCAD. Hardware and software design engineering. PLC programming – writing & developing code – Allen Bradley Rockwell, etc. Reviewing project specifications and determining project requirements. Working on both new and existing schemes to develop detailed designs. Developing functional design specifications and documentation for new projects. Designing SCADA systems and HMIs. Performing testing & validation of hardware/software systems. Optimizing design via simulations, testing & development. Participating in design & technical meetings with customers/stakeholders. Internal system testing of new systems. On-site commissioning of new systems both in the UK and worldwide. Benefits: Subsidised gym membership.
