Responsibilities: Experienced in airframe structure design engineering development. Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering graduate or postgraduate with a minimum of 6 to 10 years of experience in executing design activities. Experience working on eVTOL aircraft design, build, and test-related work is an advantage. Provide design and build services to a customer for a prototype electrical vertical take-off/landing aircraft. Prepare composite and metallic structure detail and assembly definitions as part of a capacity offload solution. Deliver professional design engineering services weekly for the stated duration of this engagement, providing design and design checking capability. Deliver design engineering, including creation and cross-checking of model-based definitions within the 3D Experience digital mock-up (DMU). Act as an independent team while coordinating with other relevant engineering teams to ensure compatibility and continuity of design, particularly with the Systems Integration team. Report via a designated Lead to the relevant Design Lead for the Programme(s). Attend customer facilities for key meetings and design reviews, with some hybrid working considered acceptable. Perform design activities and interface with teams towards a common objective for design maturity. Define design solutions for new components/assemblies and modifications to existing components (composites and metallic) according to cost, weight, quality, manufacturability, serviceability, and performance. Provide evidence of design compliance with customer/technical specifications. Prepare drawings and other engineering data required for manufacturing and data submission to the customer. Produce ECN as required to support manufacturing, customers, quality, and certification. Ensure own and team quality of deliveries. Must Have Skills: Design engineering experience and coordination with an authorized Design Approver Signatory on airframe structure - metallic and/or composite aerostructures. Excellent knowledge of aerostructures, wings, empennage, and fuselage. Excellent knowledge of computerized design and analysis methods (CATIA V5). Experience with GD&T (tolerance stack-up). Good experience in aerospace composite (honeycomb) and metallic materials and manufacturing processes. Customer-focused with the ability to establish credibility with internal and external customers. Awareness of A/C industry standards, regulations, and qualification requirements. Good English verbal and written communication skills. Able to work to tight, demanding deadlines and customer demands. Ability to work effectively within an integrated project team. Desired Skills: Microsoft Office and Teams.
