MCS Group is proud to be working with a world-leading manufacturing company to recruit Design Engineers to be based out of their Dunleer/Newry site.
As a design engineer, you will join the R&D team and be responsible for the delivery of all new products to the business and for the continuous improvement of products, processes, and people.
Duties and Responsibilities
Mechanical design activities related to the product life cycle Promote innovation and advancement in technology and participate in research and design Knowledge and understanding of design principles, materials selection and optimisation, supplier design capability assessment, 3D modelling and material master's design BOM product life cycle Contribution to continuous improvement, ensuring ongoing review of technology, processes and outcomes. Collaboration with third parties Undertake supplier liaison against the requirements of the vendor management process Essential Criteria
Degree qualification in relevant technical/engineering discipline or substantial hands-on operational experience in Mechanical Design R&D/Engineering Specific detailed experience in several of the following areas: materials selection, sheet metal design, complex plastic and composite moulding part and tool design, design for manufacture and assembly, heating systems, smart controls, thermodynamic and hydraulic circuit design, and control, quality management systems and processes.
