Working in our world class research, design and development (RDD) department, you will have the opportunity to work alongside leading technical specialists and highly motivated creative people to create products which drive agricultural capabilities. About the role

Develop innovative design solutions and solve technical engineering problems for the Dyson Farming business. Designers will be expected to develop new product concepts and ideas from a blank sheet of paper as well as being able to translate defined product briefs into novel solutions. Produce innovative mechanical designs across a range of device types and technologies to deliver our product performance specifications while considering cost, manufacturing, and time of delivery. Be responsible for 3D CAD and design requirements for mechanical systems from concept through to evaluation, before handing over. Analyse test results, summarise and communicate these with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Define plans, monitor progress and report to management on technical risks. Take an active, hands-on role to ensure that all engineering problems are resolved thoroughly. Develop detailed specifications and design requirements. Develop tests to replicate anticipated usage and optimise products to be robust and high performing. Perform analysis on test failures and develop efficient solutions. About you

A degree in Mechanical Engineering discipline or equivalent with relevant professional experience. A creative and considered approach to problem solving, following clear design processes. 2+ years of Design engineering experience. Practical and methodical design development expertise through prototyping and testing. Knowledge and understanding of a broad range of engineering and technological disciplines. Proven examples of developing technically challenging designs. Experience working in a 3D CAD design environment. The skills to communicate your ideas to others within your team. Ability to plan, prioritise and co-ordinate your own time. Knowledge and understanding of multiple manufacturing techniques. A passion for agriculture and farming. UK Driving Licence.
