31 days, including bank holidays My client is looking to hire an enthusiastic skilled individual to expand the engineering team. The ideal candidate would be a creative thinker with a genuine interest in mechanical engineering. The candidate must have the ability to work on multiple projects at once, managing their time efficiently and effectively to complete set goals and tasks in a given time period. Job Role / Main Responsibilities:

Make updates and improvements to existing 3D designs and 2D drawings in SolidWorks, including actioning comments and feedback from our fabrication and assembly teams. Work on new designs and projects, including liaising with customers about requirements, production of concept/approval drawings and production of engineering drawings. Carry out engineering calculations and reports. Work with an integrated PDM system through SolidWorks to maintain revision control on components and assemblies. Liaise with suppliers regarding the suitability and procurement of select components, as well as the ordering of these parts. Input of design BOMs into our manufacturing and stock inventory system, inFlow. Production and compilation of technical files to accompany both new and existing machines. Creation and modification of instruction manuals for our finished machines. Learn and gain knowledge of relevant legislation relating to the supply of machinery, including the design of machines for use within potentially explosive atmospheres (ATEX). Produce hydraulic and pneumatic circuit diagrams. Qualifications / Key Skills:

Minimum HND or undergraduate degree level qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar. Highly proficient in the use of SolidWorks 3D CAD software. Proficient in the use of common Microsoft Office applications. Able to work within a small team or on their own when required. Strong attention to detail. Proficient and accurate written communication skills (English). Motivated to expand and further develop their knowledge of engineering principles and practices. Ability to multitask. Strong communication and time management skills. Experience in a Design Engineer role or similar. Knowledge of Product Data Management systems, including revision control. A good knowledge or understanding of machinery standards. Experience using a stock management system. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and principles. Knowledge of electrical systems and principles.
