Design Engineer

to join their team and contribute to innovative, safety-driven projects. About the Role This role provides a mix of desk-based design work, site visits, and collaboration with internal teams. It's an opportunity to showcase your expertise and make a tangible impact on life-saving projects. Key Responsibilities System Design Create fire sprinkler system designs compliant with BS 9251, BS EN 12845, NFPA, and other standards. Develop technical drawings using CAD software. Perform hydraulic calculations to ensure optimal performance and compliance. Technical Collaboration Collaborate with sales and project teams to align designs with client requirements. Specify and source compatible, compliant components. Provide technical guidance to installation teams during project phases. Site Assessment and Compliance Conduct site visits to assess project feasibility. Maintain accurate design documentation, including calculations and technical drawings. What We're Looking For Essential Minimum of 3 years' experience in fire sprinkler design or a related field. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and hydraulic calculation tools. In-depth knowledge of industry standards (BS 9251, BS EN 12845, NFPA). Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Desirable Degree or HND in Mechanical/Fire Engineering. Experience with Full Hydraulic Calculations (FHC) and site surveys. Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) processes. The Ideal Candidate You are proactive, detail-oriented, and passionate about fire safety. With strong technical expertise and a commitment to excellence, you excel in both independent and collaborative environments, ensuring top-quality designs for a variety of projects. £35,000-£60,000 (Dependent on Experience and LPCB Qualifications) Bonus:
