The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing and leading the full design process from ideation to production. You will draw new designs and update our current designs. During the creation process, you will ensure that our designs meet all necessary design responsibilities. Responsibilities: Utilize CAD software (Solidworks and AutoCAD) to produce 3D models and manufacturing drawings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design standards. This includes the drawing of components, assemblies, machines and systems. Where applicable, use correct engineering and mathematical formulas for ensuring suitable design. Drive standardization and control within the Product Data Management (PDM) system to optimize efficiency and consistency. Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural elements to ensure product integrity and performance. Provide expertise on new product introductions and contribute to product care and redesign initiatives to optimize costs. Ensure compliance with design standards, including the Machinery Directive and ATEX Directive, throughout the development process. Produce accurate bill of material data within CAD models and advise on the selection of equipment, including EC&I items, to support product design. Collaborate in engineering reviews to evaluate product designs and identify opportunities for improvement. Identify errors and prevent recurrence by ensuring timely drawing revision is conducted in line with company change control procedures. Finalise design package for passing to production. Ensure all GA drawings, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, test/inspection are supplied to streamline the production process. Consult on project schedules to assist with estimating task durations and tracking progress, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Provide input on general arrangement drawing approval and the selection of spares and consumables required for aftersales activities. Partner with project managers to design schematic drawings and develop functional and design specifications for products. Assess project scope changes and their impact on design requirements, providing recommendations for adjustments as needed. Communicate with customers on technical aspects of the design to ensure expectations are managed and issues are resolved to meet customer’s requirements. Work with the sales team to create proposal drawings which can support quotations. Assist in the technical specification of quoted equipment. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, design, or related field. Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD, as well as Microsoft Office suite. Experience in product design and design for manufacture, preferably in technical or industrial settings. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines consistently. Team player mentality with the capacity to work independently when necessary. Willingness to go the extra mile to achieve project and team goals. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
