35,000- 38,000 We are seeking a Design Engineer to join a truly exciting businesses in a role that offers the design and engineering freedom akin to top-tier Automotive/motorsport environments. This position is ideal for candidates who thrive in high-pressure scenarios and have a proven track record in fields such as Automotive, motorsport or aerospace engineering. Day-to-day of the role: Responsible for design engineering at both component and assembly levels, independently reporting to senior engineers and management. Take end-to-end ownership of projects, which includes manufacture, build, testing, and racing, along with fault analysis and resolution. Engage in engineering problem-solving, ensuring solutions are carried through to production. Participate in workshop car build, preparation, and fabrication as required flexibility to complete team tasks is essential. Travel to events as needed, with the amount varying based on project requirements. Required Skills & Qualifications: A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering, aerospace, or a related field. Strong knowledge of manufacturing technologies; knowledge of composites and electrical engineering is highly desirable. Proficiency in basic stress calculations and the ability to interpret stress analysis results. Advanced CAD skills; experience with SolidWorks is advantageous. Data analysis skills are desirable but not essential. Ability to work under pressure to meet critical deadlines. A creative and proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent attention to detail, and methodical work practices. Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a friendly and collaborative outlook. Leadership qualities that inspire and motivate teams and peers.
