Design Engineer / Design & Development Engineer / Mechanical Engineer
required to join a leading manufacturer based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will join the R&D department and lead development projects from initial concept through to full product realisation as well as redesigning existing products.
Package £38,000 - £45,000 depending on experience Bonus Pension
Role Lead development projects from initial concept through to full product realisation as well as redesigning existing products Design & development of products using Solidworks, ANSYS simulation software and other techniques Conduct stress calculations to validate the structural integrity of components and assemblies Prepare drawings, documents and engineering calculations to support applications Supporting the R&D department in research, development and testing Help solve technical problems during manufacture and assembly Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Preparation, maintenance and revision control of 3D CAD models, drawings and BOM’s using Solidworks and PLM software Implement engineering change requests Liaise with various engineering departments
Monday - Thursday 08:30 - 17:15, Friday 08:30 - 13:00 (Flexitime available)
Requirements Experience as a Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Design & Development Engineer, Project Engineer, CAD Engineer, Mechanical Designer or similar Mechanical engineering qualification, Degree, HND or HNC 3D CAD experience is essential, SolidWorks beneficial, however other 3D CAD will be considered Familiar with the principles of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) - beneficial
Hybrid Working There is hybrid working available with the option of working from home 2 days per week after a 3 month qualifying period. Office is in Wellingborough.
