Design Engineer

Design Engineer 40 Hours per week Established manufacturer Hybrid Working Respected partner to the Aviation industry Great company culture We are working with a long-standing client of ours based in Wythenshawe who are experts in the aviation industry who are looking for a Design Engineer. The Job Designing and developing aircraft components and assemblies for the civil and military aviation industry. Generating production drawings for components and assemblies, using written specifications. Working closely with the office to maintain compliance with appropriate regulations. Processing drawing change requests in accordance with our change management procedure. Reverse engineering components for product improvement or changes using 2D metrology equipment. Overseeing work through the business workflow and into full-scale production. Supporting and working closely with other departments of the business and suppliers where required. Attending internal and customer-facing meetings as and when required. About You Degree-level qualification, or equivalent experience, in an engineering field. Experience using SolidWorks. Ability to generate production drawings in AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD application. An understanding of Design for Manufacture (DfM). Experience using SolidWorks PDM vaulting system. Experience using Aprotec DMS vaulting system. Ability to use in-house digitising equipment and associated software to reverse engineer patterns. Ability to find solutions to complex technical problems relating to components. Ability to support design work with calculations and theory where needed.
