The Opportunity I'm currently working with a regional Contractor who is looking for a Design Manager to join their team in their Castleford office. As a Design Manager, your role will be to oversee the management of the design process to ensure delivery of projects and that they meet requirements. You will be supporting the Project Delivery teams by providing design input both onsite and in the pre-construction period. You will be reporting into the senior design manager who will aid you in providing guidance and structure to the role.

What you will be doing: Assisting in the management of design proposals ensuring they meet requirements. Assist in the implementation of BIM deliverables. Monitor responsibilities for the scheme. Assist in the effective management of the team including 3rd parties or novated design teams. Facilitate forums and processes that engage with the commercial and operational teams to ensure input in the design process. Conduct QA / Initial design reviews of information. Assist in the record approval processes. Assist in the management of the design deliverables programme. Assist in the management of meetings relating to design delivery. Be aware and assist in the management of sustainability deliverables for the scheme. Liaise with project document control and assist in the management of documents. What we will need from you: Awareness of the principles of construction. Ability to form effective relationships with partners. Relevant IT skills are desirable and Microsoft Office is essential. CAD knowledge is preferable but not essential. Detailed construction knowledge is desirable but not essential. Diligent and organised manner. Strong time management and structured approach to work is required.
