Design Manager

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Work with Divisional Director and Project Manager to manage the design process from pre-construction to handover. Production of detailed design drawings, manufacturing drawings, schedules etc. Ensure design programme is incorporated into the overall project programme. Active involvement with R&D projects. Raise RFIs as necessary. Assist with preparation of Contractor's Proposal/Technical Submissions. Attending design meetings with specifiers and contractors, understanding client requirements from the design brief. Ensure cost effective solutions are incorporated in the design, and investigate VE opportunities where required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION Ability to work in both 2D & 3D design within Auto CAD. Knowledge of the CAT A and CAT B fit out market favourable. Passionate about attention to detail, committed to excellence and continuous improvement. Well organised and able to deliver to deadlines, able to work well under pressure. Self-motivated and adaptable. Good knowledge of current CDM and Building Regulations. Experience in managing external document management systems. Professional and pleasant personality. Good written and verbal communication skills. Commercial awareness of design decisions. Analytical problem solver. High level of accuracy. Willing to work individually or as a team. Hungry, humble, smart.
