This role is for a 40 million Design & Build education complex in Kent. The role:

As the Design Manager, you will be a key person instrumental in the company's ongoing success. Your role will involve but not be limited to: Reporting to the Contracts Manager in conjunction with the Head of Design and working alongside other Design Managers within the business. Producing design programmes, design scopes, design responsibility matrices, appointments, and schedules. Managing and delivering design information in line with the agreed design programme and deliverable schedule for a live scheme. Ensuring appointed Design Consultants and Engineers carry out their duties in accordance with their appointment. Attending and chairing necessary meetings with internal and external stakeholders. Value Engineering to achieve desired outcomes and maximise project profitability. Working collaboratively with commercial and delivery teams. Ensuring design compliance with planning conditions and legislative requirements. About you: Previous experience working within the Department for Education construction framework. Previous experience in the same or a similar role is essential for either a developer, contractor, or consultancy. Ability to manage the design process for your project autonomously. Sound technical knowledge of design packages and ability to input at key project stages including consultant selection, procurement, and project delivery. Educated to degree level or HNC/HND in a relevant discipline. Experience of working on projects of a similar size would be an advantage but not essential.
