Design Manager or Senior Design Manager – Building / Construction Exciting Multi-Million-Pound Projects in the Building Sector COMPANY: We are looking for a Design Manager or Senior Design Manager to join a respected building contractor known for its involvement in high-value, multimillion-pound construction projects. The company is open to considering candidates with experience as either a Senior Design Manager, Design Manager, or Senior Design Coordinator who are seeking career advancement in the near future. ROLE: As a Design Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing design-related issues across various sectors during both the preconstruction and construction stages of individual projects. The role involves experience in the appointment and management of consultants, monitoring the creation of detailed designs, and overseeing the design appraisal review process for projects in progress. You must be skilled in managing the design process, identifying design solutions, and assessing design risks and opportunities. Your work will support the business in delivering current projects and securing future ones. You will oversee all design activities in collaboration with the development team and ensure a smooth transition to the delivery teams. Additionally, you will manage the work of consultants and specialist subcontractors, collaborating with commercial teams to negotiate their appointments. REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria: In-depth knowledge of the building sector. Prior experience as a Design Coordinator, D&B Coordinator, D&B Manager, or Design Manager. Experience working on building sector projects such as commercial properties, apartment blocks, student accommodation, extra care housing, MOJ, industrial projects, education facilities, or healthcare buildings. Previous experience working with a main contractor. Strong communication skills. Relevant industry qualifications (Degree, HND, HNC, etc.). REMUNERATION: The successful candidate will receive: £50,000 - £75,000 base salary (depending on experience) Car allowance Healthcare Pension
