Design Manager

JOB- Design Manager LOCATION- Margate TERM- Permanent SALARY- £50,000 to £60,000 per annum (plus benefits) Premier Engineering is seeking a Design Manager to lead the design team for a manufacturing company. This pivotal role involves managing a team of talented Mechanical Design Engineers, leading projects, driving innovation, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality mechanical designs that meet customer and business requirements. The Design Manager will ideally have the following attributes: Proven experience in mechanical design and team management A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar) Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, and assembly Experience with product lifecycle management and design for manufacture (DFM) Excellent leadership and communication skills Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively Knowledge of industry standards and regulations The Design Manager role will involve: Leading and managing the mechanical design team to deliver projects on time and within budget Overseeing the creation of detailed designs, drawings, and technical documentation Driving innovation and continuous improvement in design processes and practices Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and R&D Managing resources and workflows to ensure efficient design delivery Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations Providing technical guidance and mentorship to design team members Reporting on design activities and project progress to senior management If you are an experienced Mechanical Design Manager looking to take on a challenging leadership role, please apply with an up-to-date CV as soon as possible, including your availability and salary expectations.
