Cambridge Overview: A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Design Manager to join a leading construction organisation to cover the Eastern region. As the Design Manager, you will fully understand and manage the design requirements of the tender/project and you will provide assistance and guidance to design coordinators where and when appropriate. What will you do as the Design Manager? Manage the design process using your commercial, contractual, programme/time awareness and technical expertise. Support, understand and advise the client as to the requirements and obligations in the development of a building design. Encourage and inspire design consultants to produce their best work. Ensure the design process recognises current legislation, standards and codes of practice, where appropriate. Ensure design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with project timescales. Strive to eliminate health and safety risks in the design and financial risks during construction. Requirements for the role: Oversee the design coordinators. Experience of site/contract procedures. Ability to organise, plan, programme and manage workloads. Good working knowledge of Building Regulations and Planning Permission procedures.
