We are looking for a motivated Design Manager to join our multidisciplinary in-house technical team. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, values teamwork, and can effectively share knowledge and support others. Alongside one other Design Manager you will take responsibility for planning and managing all aspects of CAD delivery and coordinating with and reporting technical status to project teams. Responsibilities: Project Management: Oversee day-to-day project activities, ensuring drawings comply with project specifications, statutory regulations, and internal standards CAD Coordination: Plan, manage, and deliver all CAD-related activities, both internally and as sub-contract requirements. Team Leadership: Coordinate with project managers, oversee the CAD team’s performance, and distribute responsibilities accordingly. Compliance: Ensure all drawings meet national standards and internal procedures. Sub-contract Management: Source, negotiate, and manage CAD sub-contract orders, with approval from a BEL Director. Technical Support: Provide technical support to the broader BGL team on live projects, tenders, and development projects. Communication: Regularly update the operational team on project status through reports and coordination meetings. External Management: Appoint, brief, and manage external consultants and subcontractors. Applicant

Key Attributes: Educational Background: Degree or Higher National qualification in a relevant construction discipline. Experience: Proven experience in managing programs and people, working with external professional organizations, and managing consultants and subcontractors. Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of building construction, structural steelwork, NSSS, Building Regulations, and Tekla Structures. Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to manage external consultants, and report against program and budget. Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of CDM and Temporary Works responsibilities.
