Do you have a passion for engineering and a desire to make a real difference?

We're looking for talented Design Managers (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process Engineering) to join our growing teams across the UK & Ireland.

This is your chance to: Lead and develop project teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Work on exciting water projects that push boundaries and make a significant impact. Partner with top water clients across the UK, shaping the future of the industry.

We're a leading engineering consultancy with continued growth ambitions, building on a successful track record. Our 2024 water strategy is brimming with opportunities, and you'll be at the forefront, tackling iconic projects.

Here's what sets us apart: We prioritize community - designing solutions that minimize environmental impact and maximize social benefits. We champion sustainable development, delivering infrastructure projects that adapt to climate change.

Our Design Managers work across the project lifecycle in asset planning / strategy, concept design, outline design and detailed design. We work in a variety of project areas within the water sector, including clean water treatment and networks, wastewater treatment, wastewater networks, flooding, and urban drainage. Our local design teams are involved in large partnership initiatives such as Hull and East Riding's Living with Water partnership, award-winning projects such as the Clifton Integrated Constructed Wetland project and more recently have been successful in bidding for exciting new work with United Utilities.

As Design Manager, you will play a fundamental role within projects to identify innovative and sustainable solutions, work collaboratively with the client, plan technical delivery, and lead the multidisciplinary team throughout the project. You will work alongside the Project Manager to deliver best value and client service excellence. You will have access to Stantec's world-class expertise to help you deliver leading edge design.

As well as work on nearby projects in local communities to the North West, Stantec also offers the opportunity to work on projects across the UK and Ireland, and globally.

About You

We are looking for someone who has a passion for solving engineering problems, the ability to lead and inspire and the confidence to drive through challenging solutions.

To be considered for this role, you will be a degree qualified (or equivalent) engineer and you will ideally be chartered, or a member of a relevant engineering institution e.g. ICE. Support can be given to achieve this if required.

We have opportunities for differing levels of seniority, so if you are looking to develop your leadership career, we'll support you on your journey.
