Glasgow - Hybrid - 3 days week onsite £38-45k We are looking for a hands-on and digitally focused Design Team Lead for this pivotal role guiding a small team of talented designers onsite with a longstanding client. You’ll create visually captivating and impactful work for a brilliant globally recognized brand in the insurance / FS industries, whilst working closely with the client on briefs and also managing and mentoring several integrated and graphic designers under you. The role requires a passionate conceptual design leader, who can push briefs and execute beautiful results-driven integrated marketing campaign work predominantly across digital platforms, websites, and social. The role requires a really enthusiastic and client-centric Design Lead with a clean and well-crafted portfolio of work. Your book should showcase your creativity and passion for design as well as having a good variety of work across digital design. You’ll be given lots of autonomy in the role in a fast-paced environment and expected to consistently deliver high-quality design solutions. So the ideal candidate will be someone who is ambitious with a proactive mindset and who wants an opportunity to make a difference. As a creative leader, you’ll inspire and mentor your team while also leading by example with your own hands-on design of exceptional work. You’ll need to excel in building effective relationships at all levels and will work closely with Account Direction to support the growth of the account. It’s a role that’ll require the Design Lead to take challenges on with confidence and a solution-minded attitude – you should also be able to manage your own work and support in helping to manage the rest of the teams’ workloads and client timelines efficiently. There will be lots of room to continue to develop your own skillset so the ideal Design Lead will have a passion for design that is matched by your eagerness to learn new software and work with AI tools that enhance work and efficiency. You’ll also be a strong communicator, with a calm presence and a brilliant eye for detail. Key Responsibilities: Lead and develop a small creative, design team pushing for excellence in all output. Oversee the daily operations of the studio team, providing guidance, support, and strategic direction to elevate the team’s creative work whilst identifying any opportunities to enhance client briefs. Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with client services and senior client stakeholders, keeping them informed on progress and collaboratively addressing any challenges that arise. Gain a deep understanding of the client’s business and marketing strategy, and target demographics to deliver impactful results. Manage the entire design process across digital and social channels from concept through to execution, pitching innovative and creative solutions that align with client briefs. Key Experience: Exceptional client relationship building skills with experience of taking clear briefs and pushing these to allow for the best creative output. Strong integrated and digital design background having worked on projects across campaigns, web, social, email, etc. Conceptual thinker who also takes real care in the craft of the design work they produce. Experience in managing and mentoring more junior team members. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) coupled with a strong creative vision.
