Our client is an established, family run UK company who supply a range of products to major high street retailers and wholesalers all over the world. They are currently looking to recruit a Designer/Product Developer to join their growing team. This role is perfect for someone wishing to secure a role within a reputable fast fashion business.
The Role
Working on high street accounts on a regular basis. Working with the Design team to ensure that trend and colour information is produced for the strategy providing choice for customers. Action comments made from customer meetings for the final fit/ styling amends. Ensuring all designs are interpreted correctly prior to production. Liaising with factories overseas. Monitoring and evaluating sources of inspiration in the industry and wider markets leading to product opportunities ensuring they are incorporated into the ranges. Regularly reviewing competitors. Working closely with Buying and Merchandising to build the range and understand customer requirements.
Skills Required
Design Degree Strong CAD skills Ability to work to deadlines Strong commercial awareness and be up to date with current trends, key shapes, colours etc. Understanding of and worked with Far East factories. Production of design specifications suitable for factories to understand. Knowledge of the manufacturing process and raw materials to develop samples and ranges effectively and to cost. Ability to fully understand customer requirements. Proven ability to work to tight deadlines.
