Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to end-users, ensuring that all computer systems and hardware operate effectively. This role requires a strong understanding of various operating systems, hardware components, and networking protocols. The Desktop Support Technician will be the first point of contact for technical issues, troubleshooting problems and providing solutions in a timely manner. Duties Provide first-line support for Windows and Mac OS environments, addressing user inquiries and technical issues. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems, including computer hardware malfunctions. Assist users with VPN connectivity issues and ensure secure access to company resources. Manage firewall configurations and maintain network security protocols. Conduct regular maintenance on computer systems to ensure optimal performance. Document all support interactions in the remedy system for tracking purposes. Collaborate with other IT staff to escalate complex issues as necessary. Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies relevant to desktop support. Experience Proven experience in a help desk or technical support role, with a strong focus on customer service. Proficiency in Windows operating systems and familiarity with Mac OS and Linux environments. Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking principles and troubleshooting techniques. Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and general network security practices is advantageous. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with users at all levels.
