Overview
IQ Endoscopes is seeking an ambitious and motivated individual with a strong interest and experience in medical device development to support research and implementation of technologies and design solutions into our range of single use endoscopes and associated equipment. As our Development Engineer you will generate full design packages, design history and risk management files to facilitate transfer to production and preparing for regulatory submissions. You will take responsibility for the development activities, producing design control, risk management and technical reports in line with international standards.
Responsibilities
Ideate, develop and test new technologies and design solutions
Design mechanical electrical medical devices including design for manufacturing and design for assembly/disassembly
Perform engineering analysis on respective designs
Support verification and validation activities by planning, performing and documenting tests and designing test jigs and methodologies, as appropriate
Overcome challenges and solve problems to enable fast paced progress
Co-ordinate with internal/external stakeholders including clinicians, contract designers and contract manufacturers
Adhere to processes controlled within the quality management system
Communicate clearly and professionally to facilitate project management tasks
Qualifications
A degree in mechanical engineering, product design or related discipline
No less than 3 years’ experience in product development, ideally in a highly regulated environment
Strong competency in core design methodologies and tools, design documentation and change control
Proficiency in CAD and Product Data Management (this role will use Solidworks)
A strong interest and understanding of the medical device field
