AFL is a subsidiary of Fujikura Ltd. We are looking for a collaborative, factual and independent leaner individual as a Development Engineer for our company. Responsible for the development and validation of products, systems and components. Analysing and directing recommendations for problem resolution to the expectation of the client. Work to improve the performance and efficiency of existing products. Work on many phases or sub-tasks of large projects working under instruction of Senior Development Engineer or entire projects of moderate complexity. Works under general supervision, reviewed at project milestones and on completion. Plans projects or subtasks so they may be tracked and presented. Development Engineers are responsible for on time delivery of New Product Development (NPD) projects including completion of detail design, product qualification to scope as well as concept development and all assigned NPD deliverables. The role is hybrid working, three days in the office. Therefore, candidates must live a commutable distance from Milton Keynes. Key responsibilities include: New Product Development

On time delivery of New Product Development deliverables Concept development within NPD Projects Detail design for NPD projects Product qualification as part of NPD project Supporting Product Engineering to release product into production Analyse customer product specifications and applicable regulations /legislations under the supervision of the Senior Development Engineer According to validation/measurement results, define necessary product improvements to meet the specifications Lead the product validations for their area of the product under the supervision of the Senior Development Engineer

Experience Mechanical Engineering Degree is essential 3 years’ experience in design for manufacture of plastics 3 years’ experience in design for manufacture of sheet metal 3 years’ experience in SolidWorks Able to do geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) Benefits 25 days holiday 4 weeks paid sick leave, increasing to 18 with length of service Group pension plan (5% employer 4% employee) Group life assurance 8 times salary Cash back medical plan Employee Assistance Programme Annual bonus
