We are key partners with the world’s leading medical devices, semiconductor, scientific analytics and industrial systems manufacturers. When they want to push the limits of what’s possible with high voltage applications, they turn to us to make it happen. While Spellman is not a household name, our products are used to make and often power many of the most advanced technologies that make modern life possible. With design and manufacturing sites in North America, Europe and Asia, we have become the preferred provider of high voltage power solutions for OEMs pushing the boundaries of technology around the world by designing and producing the products they need to power progress. Main Objectives:

The Development Engineer will be qualified in a relevant discipline with experience and knowledge of high voltage requirements, will have the skills to develop power supply designs and will be keen to gain design experience and knowledge. Key Responsibilities:

Liaise with engineers and review customer specifications to understand required unit performance. Develop and modify high voltage power conversion products and associated equipment to meet agreed specifications. Design and build breadboards and prototypes to investigate/research new design techniques (higher stability, lower noise, faster polarity reversing) where required. Accurately document designs to enable full manufacturing packages to be created or amended. Confirm that developed designs meet their requirements by test and/or simulation and calculation. Meet agreed time-scales for a task or project. Ensure products are compliant to all current legal and regulatory requirements avoiding the use of components, materials or substances they identify as presenting a threat to the environment. Products will optimise life cycle duration and if practical be repairable, energy efficient and have no undue environmental impact. Assume ownership of the assigned projects from conception to completion and give continued support while in service. Responsibility for adhering to the Company’s ISO 9001 Quality, ISO14001 Environmental and Health and Safety management systems and contributing towards continuous improvement.
