We are partnered with Westminster City Council, who are looking to appoint a Development Manager to join their fantastic Development & Regeneration team. The Development Manager role at Westminster City Council is a critical position responsible for overseeing and managing various aspects of development projects. Role Overview: Ways of Working: Breaking down silos and fostering collaboration to achieve collective project outcomes. Creating inclusive and supportive environments for team members to thrive. Leadership Responsibilities: Creating positive, inclusive, and successful project and team environments. Motivating teams through best practices and exceptional communication skills. Implementing agile working techniques for collaborative efforts. Specific Post Responsibilities: Project Development Cycle: Assisting/leading project management from concept to occupation. Managing multi-disciplinary teams through RIBA design stages 0 to 7. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensuring compliance with Westminster's Employer Requirements (ERs). Managing compliance of contractors/developers with contract obligations. Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitating the involvement of the Development Services Team. Building and managing relationships with developers, contractors, and stakeholders. Performance Management: Setting clear performance management structures. Collaborating with other leaders to improve teamwork and outcomes. Community Benefits: Translating organizational ambitions into projects delivering tangible community benefits. Leading an engaged, driven, and motivated team for results and collaboration. Change in Culture: Achieving a change in pace, approach, and culture in development program delivery. Budget Management: Managing delegated budgets and resources in line with Westminster processes. Skills and Experience: Degree or professional qualification with 3-5 years of development management experience. Understanding and implementation of ERs, design, development, cost, and construction compliance. Excellent written and spoken English, report writing, and communication skills. Knowledge of construction and contracting, value engineering, and commitment to diversity and inclusivity. The closing date for applications will be Friday 31st January.
