Good benefits We are essentially looking for somebody from either Customer Services, Sales, Account Handler, Insurance, Financial Services or Mortgages. This is a new role due to growth. If you are good with people on the phones, great at building relationships and like the idea of something quite fast-paced and analytical and you can interpret data, then this could be a good opportunity for you. They have grown from their roots as a specialist broker to become a trusted and reputable name within the Small Business insurance sector. Overview of the role Development Underwriters play a pivotal role in daily trading operations. They are the bridge between brokers and insurers, offering valuable insights into risk coverage and facilitating the clearance of referrals. With training, you will evolve into a policy expert, gaining in-depth knowledge of our two insurance schemes. This expertise will enable you to confidently guide brokers, ensuring they understand the relevant policy conditions and exclusions. Reporting directly to the Development Underwriting Manager, your primary responsibility is to facilitate new business placement, streamlining the process for our clients. You will become proficient in utilising our systems and Customer Relationship Management tools. Roles and Responsibilities Represent the business with the best level of service towards broker partners Give clear and accurate advice on risk presentations Explain policy detail with clarity and confidence to our broker partners Liaise with our Insurers regarding referrals and building out our delegated authority understanding Become a policy/scheme expert with in-depth understanding of policy wordings Manage your workload in an efficient and effective manner Prioritise your workload in line with team goals Skills and Experience A Self-Starter Great Communication Skills High Level of Attention to Detail Team Player Previous experience in the insurance industry would be highly advantageous, as would experience in underwriting.
