As a member of our London-based DevOps team, this position involves working closely with the development teams (front office or mid/back office), in order to deliver functionality and facilitate the delivery of new features to the business, engineering, and support of our K8s clusters and collaborating with the platforms team on our multi-tenant private and public cloud initiatives. The role is integral to delivering services to our core business sectors globally, including Trading, middle and back office, and Technology.
The role in addition to the platforms and technologies listed below, requires proficiency in system integration, support, and continuous improvement using DevOps methodologies, with an emphasis on standardisation and repeatability through high levels of automation and orchestration.
Experience required:
- A minimum of 5 years of industry experience. Prior experience in a similar role within a Financial institution will be advantageous.
- Experience working with pull requests and peer reviews in an agile environment
- Comprehensive Kubernetes engineering and support experience, including on-prem, using bare metal hardware or integrated with hypervisors such as VMWare, and EKS/AKS. This should also include experience with security, high availability, networking, load balancing, and storage.
- Experience with Linux and Microsoft Windows
- Proficient in configuration management and automation, using Ansible (must have) and Terraform (optional).
- Experience of programming in Python (mandatory), and at least one of Groovy, Java or C#
- Excellent understanding of CI/CD, using Teamcity and Jenkins
- Experience with Nexus or Artifactory
- Proficient with Open Telemetry and an in-depth understanding of Prometheus, ELK, Tempo or Jaeger
- Platform engineering and support experience with Public Cloud platforms, preferably with a major Hyperscaler like Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Previous experience with Java and .Net Core, including Tomcat and Jetty, good understanding of the JVM and CLR
- Messaging with Kafka
- Experience with Redis, Hazelcast and Memcached
- Experience with Junit, Pytest, Selenium and/or other testing frameworks and tools
- Testing with Gremlin, chaos-test, Litmuschaos or similar
