The diabetes dietitians work closely with the wider diabetes MDT to provide 1:1 and group education/promote self-management to patients with diabetes type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes across Herefordshire. Specialist services include antenatal service, insulin pump clinics and young adult clinics.
Post-registration experience in diabetes is desirable for this post; however, training can be provided. You will be supported in your role by the Band 7 diabetes dietitians.
Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be responsible for running face-to-face and virtual outpatient clinics and structured education groups, treating all types of diabetes; with treatments for diabetes including HCL and insulin pump therapy. The caseload will include some paediatric diabetes and transition age groups in addition to adult patients.

Current HCPC registration
BDA member
Basic Clinical Supervisory Skills training
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Excellent knowledge of Diabetes and its treatments
Communication, motivation, and negotiation skills
Able to plan and prioritise own workload
Good presentation and teaching skills
Experience
Experience of working with patients with diabetes
Experience of working with patients using insulin pumps and new technologies
Experience of MDT working
