We are looking for a team player who we can develop into a Support Medical Secretary role within our Diabetes and Endocrinology Medical Secretary team to develop and help support teams of clinicians & provide an efficient Medical Administration service. You will be required to work flexibly with or alongside other medical secretarial staff, consultants and their teams. Main duties of the job

Typing and despatch of clinical correspondence relating to NHS medical patients within the quality standards and time limits as specified. Effective liaison with the relevant wards and departments within the hospital and with patients and other health care providers associated with the Consultant, his/her team to ensure a prompt and effective communication system. Assist in the upkeep of the departmental clinical admin information and general filing correspondence. Responsible for the regular case note maintenance and accurate filing. Books and arranges meetings when required. To provide support and cover to other areas to the Business Unit/Division and to undertake other duties as requested. Answer the telephone and take messages and deal with queries as required. Knowledge, training & experience

A good standard of English to O level/GCSE (A-C/ 4-9 grade) or equivalent. NVQ level II Business and Administration or equivalent knowledge and skills. Typing/Keyboard/IT qualification or experience. Knowledge and understanding of a range of administrative procedures. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Analytical and judgemental skills

Ability to prioritise own workload effectively. Ability to exercise judgment when dealing with enquiries/problems. Planning and organisational skills

Can plan & organise own workload. Flexible approach to workload. Plan own letters for typing using the IT Digital Systems. Closing date of applications: 21 January 2025 Interview date: 4 February 2025
