We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Band 5 Dietitian to join our dietetic team based at Yeovil District Hospital to help deliver a service to a range of adult inpatient wards as well as outpatients.

Main duties of the job Based at Yeovil District Hospital, you will be part of the Adult Acute Dietetic Team working together to provide a dietetic service to designated adult inpatient wards including stroke and acute medicine, surgery and gastroenterology and oncology. You will also deliver a regular outpatient clinic with support from a supervising Dietitian. As well as your work with patients there will be opportunities to be involved in department initiatives, service development and the provision of education and training for patients and staff.
Across the wider Dietetic Team, opportunities are available to gain experience with Specialist Dietitians in areas such as Parenteral Nutrition, Critical Care, Diabetes, Paediatrics, Weight Management and Bariatrics.
You will have access to regular supervision and have opportunities to undertake continuing professional development through work shadowing, competency frameworks and courses as identified by your training needs and objectives.
About us You will become part of a friendly, welcoming, growing team of Dietitians, Dietetic Apprentices, Dietetic Support Workers, Nutrition Nurses and Administrative staff at Yeovil District Hospital as well as our dietetic colleagues based at Musgrove Park Hospital and the Community team.
We take Student Dietitians from Plymouth University for A, B and C placements, and support apprenticeship placements. We actively encourage training and CPD.

Person Specification Qualifications Experience
Dietetic knowledge which encompasses a range of the most common dietetic treatments likely to be encountered in an acute District General Hospital
NHS experience, either in a previous dietetic post or as a student in clinical placement
Experience of teaching groups
Additional Criteria
Ability to work as part of a team
Able to plan, prioritise and manage own workload within agreed timeframes
Aware of own limitations, knowing when to seek support
Ability to be flexible and positive approach
