The ability to transport yourself and equipment across the locality during the course of a normal working day is required for this post. The department places a strong emphasis on clinical and peer support and has a well-established program facilitating the training of Dietetic students on the three clinical placements included within their training. We are also involved in delivering a variety of rolling training programs for other healthcare professionals across the Trust, relating to nutritional care. Main duties of the job
We will support you in developing skills across inpatients and outpatients, including clinics and group education. If you are a newly qualified Dietitian in your first year of practice, we have a Preceptorship program to help support the development of your skills and confidence as an autonomous practitioner. You will have the opportunity to work with experienced Dietitians and the Advanced Clinical Specialist Dietitian for renal, as well as within the renal multi-professional team. You will also work alongside other Band 5 Dietitians, Dietetic Support Workers, and Assistant Practitioners to provide inpatient services across other areas, including General Medicine, Stroke, Gastroenterology, Care of the Elderly, and Cancer. Within the acute setting, in addition to oral nutrition support, you will be able to develop clinical skills working with patients requiring enteral tube feeding and parenteral nutrition. Outpatient clinic work will include interventions for the management of those with reduced kidney function (General Nephrology) and those with urological conditions.
