Who Are We?

Not just another building society. Not just another job.

We're the fourth biggest building society in the UK and what makes us a bit different is that we're a mutual organisation. We don't have shareholders; we're owned by our members.

Our colleagues say Skipton's a great place to work, and you could be one of them, bringing with you new ideas on how we can keep customers at the heart of what we do.

Whatever your background, and whatever your goals, we'll help you take the next step towards a better future.

You will be joining our Digital Content team, which includes digital content developers of varying experience levels and a function lead. We collaborate with various departments both internally in our Digital department and across the business, where our primary focus is delivering a cohesive digital experience for our members across our different product offerings.

What’s In It For You?

Skipton values work/life balance and we are proud to support hybrid and flexible working, where possible. We have a newly refurbished head office which offers a vibrant and collaborative working space.

We have a range of other benefits available to you including:

Annual discretionary bonus scheme

25 days standard annual leave + bank holidays + rising 1 day per year of service to a maximum of 30 days

Holiday trading scheme allowing the ability to buy and sell additional annual leave days

Matching employer pension contribution (up to 10% per annum)

A commitment to training and development

Private medical insurance for all our colleagues

3 paid volunteering days per annum

Diverse and inclusive colleague networks available for you to join including our Carers and Pride Alliance groups

We care about your health and wellbeing – we provide a range of benefits that support this including cycle to work initiative and discounted gym membership

What Will You Be Doing?

If you think financial services is just about numbers, you couldn’t be more wrong. Working as part of our Digital Team you will be helping to create engaging customer experiences across Skipton’s different digital assets.

You will experience agile principles first-hand and play a key role in enhancing digital assets through continuous improvement. You will need to be collaborative in building relationships with various teams across the organisation, ensuring seamless content development, approval, and publication meet deadlines and business objectives.

Your role will involve transforming content briefs from stakeholders into web pages, ensuring the user experience is considered throughout. This will include learning the ins and outs of our Content Management System, obtaining stakeholder approvals and participating in retrospective reviews to improve the effectiveness of our content and processes.

During your time with us, you'll benefit from the guidance of both a technical and development lead dedicated to supporting your learning. You’ll engage with mentors, forge connections, and establish a network of professional contacts that may prove invaluable throughout your career.

What Do We Need From You?

You'll need to be on a 'sandwich' degree which will be relevant to the internship and can support your learning (

please note if you are not currently studying on a sandwich degree we will not be able to consider your application

).

We welcome people who are inquisitive and enthusiastic with a little experience of managing workloads and prioritising deadlines. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to get stuck in, develop as a person and learn new things – and we’ll be there with you every step of the way.

No extensive prior knowledge of digital and technical functions is required; instead, we seek a positive attitude and a willingness to learn new skills. Rest assured; you'll receive ample support as you embark on your learning journey.

As a departmental requirement, a minimum of two office days per month is expected at our head office in Skipton, with potential variations based on the nature and frequency of your scheduled meetings.
