The Candidates: Experience in different stages of the product lifecycle, from concept design through to integration and test. Experience in developing processes, methods, and toolsets used in the product development process (highly desirable). Ability to analyse information and apply engineering judgment to solve problems (essential). Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, as well as through visualization or modelling, to managers, peers, and external parties (essential). Experience in more than one area of a discipline’s sub-disciplines (essential). Experience in more than one complex system, system of systems, air vehicle system programme, or project (desirable). Experience in articulating statements of work and planning and delivering activities to meet schedules (desirable). The Job: Create a target state vision for your capability area based on the latest engineering best practices, supporting the overall FCAS Programme objectives and Digital Engineering Vision. Innovate and deliver the necessary engineering processes, technology, people, and culture for your capability area to develop the FCAS product. Ensure alignment with the overall FCAS Digital Engineering Roadmap to achieve an integrated, end-to-end FCAS product development system. Co-design and deliver the product development solution (processes, methods, tools, technology, people, data) with software vendor partners, internal engineering functions, project stakeholders, and other product owners. Execute proof-of-concept and proof-of-value demonstrations to provide confidence that the new product development approach meets the FCAS Programme's time and cost goals. Lead business change by communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, building coalitions, and creating a sense of urgency. Liaise with international and UK partners to discuss, agree, and deploy solutions that work across the entire FCAS enterprise. Build close relationships with toolset vendors to maximize the value of their capabilities and make new feature requests for product roadmaps.
